Latest Activities
Winter:
race-ready maintenance of hull and deck for the Farr 39
having it ready for the Winter series in Texoma.
Test of Viper 640: on early January the Viper Association made
a huge effort to promote and test some of the new designed Vipers
640. Britton Brian Bennett flew from his hometown in England to
help promoting this magnificent class of sport boat, featuring
a heavier keel and much lighter composite rig. The boat hits the
low 6 knots upwind and keeps it's typical screaming speeds on the
upper teens on the way down. We also tested a new Ullman Sails
class legal Jib with a deep foot for choppy conditions.
Summer:
Being based in North Texas does not allow too much training
on the water during summer. Working on a sailboat-related company
helps
keep me active in terms of stat-of-mind giving also a break to the
physical act of sailing. Back to gym training and following up on
the Olympics are the main "keep up" activities until the
local season starts again in late September.
Next upcoming event is the Texoma's
Wunderlick Regatta, hosted by the Texoma Sailing Club on August 30
the and 31st. I will be trimming headsails and spinnakers for the
Farr 39 Mauri Pro Sailing Team.
